Thayneus Chappell
Solid hardwood cabinets, racks, and shelves. Cut, joined, and finished here. One piece at a time.
On the bench
Every one can be sized to your wall and cut in the wood you want.
Vented back, cable pass-throughs, a shelf sized for a turntable and a receiver that actually breathes.
Solid back rail, blacksmith-style hooks, hidden French cleat. Holds wet winter coats without sagging off the drywall.
Felt-lined cradles, a closed top shelf for optics and gear, and lag-anchored mounting into studs.
Materials & method
Every piece starts as rough lumber, not a flat pack. It gets milled, jointed, cut and fitted here — then finished by hand so a scratch in year six can be sanded out instead of thrown out.
How a commission works
You'll know the wood, the dimensions and the price before a single board gets cut — and you'll get photos along the way.
Measurements, a photo of the room, and what the piece has to hold. That's enough to start.
You pick the species and finish from real samples. You get a fixed price and a build date in writing.
Milling through final coat, filmed and photographed. Progress shots land in your inbox, not just on the feed.
Local delivery and hanging included, or crated and shipped with the mounting hardware sized for your wall.
From the bench
Shop footage and detail shots — the joinery you can't see once the piece is on the wall.
I asked for a cabinet that would fit an awkward corner and hold a turntable. What showed up looked like it had always been in the room.
Send the measurements and a photo. You'll get an honest answer on whether I'm the right shop for it — and a fixed price if I am.
